Painting Miniatures Figures Made Quick And Easy
Painting an Empire Warrior Priest for Warhammer Fantasy Battle

The kids have been asking for a Warrior Priest ever since they saw the trailer for Warhammer: Mark of Chaos. So, I finally broke down and ordered on from the GW Online Store.
Step-by-Step
- Clean and assemble the model.
- Prime black.
- Basecoat the armor VMC Gunmetal.
- Basecoat the robes Citadel Mechrite Red (Foundation).
- Paint the haft of the hammer Citadel Bestial Brown.
- Paint the gloves and the fur on the back of the cloak Citadel Codex Grey.
- Wash the entire figure Paynes Grey.
- Basecoat the face with Citadel Bronzed Flesh.
- Basecoat any brass pieces with VMC Brassy Brass.
- Paint the book Citadel Bubonic Brown.
- Wash everything with Liquitex Burnt Umber.
- Mix some Citadel Elf Flesh with Citadel Bleached Bone and start highlighting the face. Your final highlights should be pure Bleached Bone.
- Use a dark brown to paint a line across where they eyes should be, followed by a thinner line of white. These eyes took the longest time because their set so far into the head.
- Once you have your white line done, paint a single bar of blue down the middle.
- Highlight the fur on the cloak by drybrushing lightly with Citadel Space Wolves Grey and then add a little bit of Skull White and successively lighter strokes to highlight the tips of the fur.
- Highlight the cloak and robes by mixing a little bit of Citadel Red Gore and Blood Red until you get to pure Blood Red. Add a little bit of Citadel Blazing Orange to edge the very tips of the cloth.
- Edge line or highlight the brass and gunmetal pieces with the original color.
- Paint the purity seals Bleached Bone with a thinned Devlan Mud wash. You can edge back with Bleached Bone and some Skull White. The lettering was done with a fine brush and some Chestnut ink
- You can replicate the 5 o'clock shadow by giving the mouth area a wash with a thinned Citadel Codex Grey. Just remember to highlight the upper lip with some Elf Flesh and Bleached Bone to bring it back.
- Base
- Seal
Post Mortem
Overall, I was pretty happy with the way he turned out. I should have spend some more time cleaning up lines, but I thought he turned out nicely.
